Topwood has been a name synonymous with quality sheds and garden buildings since 1994. The original company founded by Maurice Isted and Keith Ridley operated from the factory at Etchingham in Sussex until 2008 when Topwood Timber Buildings ceased trading and the assets were bought by Sussex Sheds Ltd.

From the new workshop in Crowborough, Sussex Sheds Ltd. trading as Topwood Garden Buildings, continue the Topwood tradition of quality hand-built timber garden buildings, made in the same way by the same workforce as the original sheds always were.

Sussex Sheds Ltd. is a new company set up with the sole purpose of continuing the Topwood name. The driving force behind the enterprise is Gary Holman, director of the already successful Sussex Timber Products Ltd. and the long time foreman at Topwood, Kevin Hunnisett.

In 2008, Kevin found himself on the cusp of unemployment and asked his long time friend for a job. Happy to oblige, Gary not only employed him, but also purchased the company! Hopefully the rest will be history...
